Manager of Pilgrim Tours had a radio connection with a guide Sergey Baranov and two other guide-assistants from the Pastuchov Rocks (4760m) at 18.15. Sergey said that they had met a guy from Sweden who said that his friend had fallen down from the place near the saddle (5300m) of the mt. Elbrus. His head was broken, but he may have been alive.---- Later we found out that it was a group of 4 people. They were split into two groups; two and two people.---- The first two guys who were stronger descended from the summit of mt. Elbrus earlier and reached safely their campsite at the altitude of 4200 m. The accident happened with a Swedish guy from the second group, not so strong and fast. Our manager immediately informed a local rescue service about it. The essential staff of it was having a rescue operation in another place of this area, so we decided to help as far as possible to carry down an injured guy. The more so, three of our guides had ascended up to 4700 m and had a real chance to reach a Swedish guy sooner than rescue guides, to help and warm him because the temperature at the saddle was –35C.
